Terms Of Use
1. Introduction
Welcome to LaunchVerse. These Terms of Use ("Terms"), together with our Privacy Policy and Child Safety Policy, govern your access to and use of the LaunchVerse mobile application, website, and all associated services (collectively, "the Platform" or "LaunchVerse").
LaunchVerse is operated by Real World Learning Foundation, a non-profit entity registered at 5309 Whispering Breeze Court, Glen Allen, VA 23059-3420, United States.
By accessing or using LaunchVerse, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are a parent or legal guardian providing consent for your child's use of the Platform, you agree to these Terms on their behalf. If you do not agree, please refrain from using our services.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified to you at least 15 days in advance via email and in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility and User Declaration
2.1 Student Users
LaunchVerse is designed for students in grades 8–12, typically aged 13–18 years. All student users are treated as children under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), which defines a child as any individual who has not completed 18 years of age.
By creating an account, the student declares that:
- •They are currently enrolled in grades 8–12 at a recognised educational institution. If not part of an institution, they are of the age group 13-18 years.
- •They have obtained the consent of their parent or legal guardian to use the Platform
- •All information provided during registration is accurate and truthful
- •They understand and agree to abide by these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Child Safety Policy
2.2 Parents and Legal Guardians
If you are a parent or legal guardian of a student user, by providing consent for your child's use of the Platform, you:
- •Confirm that you are the lawful parent or guardian of the student
- •Consent to the collection, processing, and use of your child's personal data as described in our Privacy Policy
- •Agree to be bound by these Terms on behalf of your child
- •Accept responsibility for monitoring your child's use of the Platform
- •Understand your rights to access, correct, or delete your child's data at any time
2.3 School Administrators
School Administrators (coordinators, teachers, principals) access the Platform through credentials provided by LaunchVerse. By using the Platform, School Administrators confirm that they are authorised representatives of their educational institution and agree to these Terms.
3. Account Creation and Verification
3.1 School Admin Onboarding
LaunchVerse creates administrative credentials (username, password) and a unique school code for each partner school. The process is as follows:
- •LaunchVerse provides the school coordinator with login credentials and a school code via email
- •The coordinator downloads the app, accepts these Terms, and logs in
- •The coordinator resets their password via a verified email OTP process
- •The coordinator creates the school profile (logo, bio, city, cover photo, website link—all optional)
- •The coordinator may choose to make the school profile public
- •Other teachers or staff from the school may sign in using the same admin credentials
3.2 Student Registration via School Code
Students can register using a school code provided by their school coordinator:
- •Student selects "Child (under 18 years)" on the app and chooses "Sign up using a school code"
- •Student enters the school code, after which the school name is displayed for confirmation
- •Student creates an account using their email, parent's email, date of birth, and a password
- •A welcome and verification email is sent to the student's email, with the parent's email cc'd
- •A verification request is sent to the School Admin for approval
- •Student completes onboarding: name, grade, bio, interests, personality (some fields are optional)
- •The student's profile and participation access are activated only after the School Admin accepts the request
- •Accounts not accepted by the School Admin within 30 days are automatically deactivated
This pathway provides both identity verification (through school affiliation) and school verification.
3.3 Student Registration via Aadhaar
Students may also register using Aadhaar-based identity verification:
- •Student selects "Child (under 18 years)" and chooses "Sign up using Aadhaar Card"
- •Student enters their Aadhaar ID; an OTP is sent to the linked mobile number
- •Upon verification, the following information is received: full name, gender, date of birth, address, mobile number
- •Student provides their email, parent's email, and sets a password
- •Account is created; a welcome email is sent to the student and cc'd to the parent
- •Student completes profile onboarding
- •For school verification, the student may enter a school code later to link with their school
This pathway provides identity verification only. School verification requires a separate school code entry and School Admin approval.
LaunchVerse does not store Aadhaar numbers. Verification is conducted through authorised intermediaries, and only verified identity attributes are retained.
3.4 Verification Status
Each student has two independent verification statuses:
- •Identity Verification: Confirmed via Aadhaar-based verification or school code registration.
- •School Verification: Confirmed when a School Admin accepts the student's association with their school.
A school code provides both identity and school verification. Aadhaar provides identity verification only.
3.5 Account Security
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials. You must not share your password with any other person. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account, you must notify LaunchVerse immediately at [support@launchverse.org].
4. Platform Structure and Features
4.1 Global Feed
The Global Feed is the primary home screen, identical for all user roles (Students, School Admins, LaunchVerse Team). The feed displays:
- •Selected public student reel submissions from across the platform
- •Official LaunchVerse reels (visually differentiated)
- •Highlighted collections: Top 100, Submission of the Day, Hall of Fame, round-based shortlists
- •Pinned highlight sections created by LaunchVerse administrators
4.2 Opportunities Module
The Opportunities module lists active challenges. Each Opportunity includes pre-registration information (overview, rewards, domain tags, deadline, structure, exemplars, FAQ) and post-registration details (evaluation criteria, resources, round structure, submission deadlines, reel creation guidance).
4.3 Student Profile
Student profiles display: name, grade, school (clickable), location, profile picture, bio, interests, all submissions, and badges/achievements. A student opts for making a profile public.
4.4 School Profile
School profiles display: school logo, bio, location, total students, total achievements, student list, student verification approval system, and a school-specific feed showing only that school's submissions.
4.5 AI Assistant
School Admins have access to an AI Assistant that provides participation insights, deadline reminders, submission summaries, and shortlist information for their school's cohort.
4.6 Notifications
Users receive notifications for submissions, verification requests, shortlists, winner announcements, deadline reminders, and team participation updates.
5. Opportunities and Challenge Progression
5.1 AI Evaluation and Feedback
AI-generated feedback is provided on student submissions to help students understand and improve their demonstrated skills. This feedback is advisory in nature and does not constitute a final assessment. Human evaluators are involved in all shortlisting and winner selection decisions.
The AI Evaluator analyses submissions against the Opportunity's evaluation criteria to generate structured evidence of skills, mindsets, and progression.
6. AI Companion
LaunchVerse provides a personalised AI Companion to every student. The AI Companion is a conversational chatbot designed to guide students through their LaunchVerse journey, including personality exploration, career discovery, skill-building, and challenge participation.
6.1 What the AI Companion Does
- •Engages students in friendly, conversational interactions to understand their personality, interests, strengths, and goals
- •Asks proactive nudge questions to build a rich understanding of the student over time (e.g., personality exploration, interest discovery, goal-setting, reflection prompts)
- •Provides personalised career track suggestions based on the student's demonstrated interests and personality profile
- •Recommends specific skill-building exercises, project ideas, resources, and online tutorials tailored to the student
- •Guides students through Opportunity participation, including explaining challenge structure, deadlines, evaluation criteria, and helping them brainstorm submission ideas
- •Sends periodic check-in nudges to encourage engagement and reflection
- •Remembers past conversations and uses that context to provide increasingly personalised guidance over time
6.2 What the AI Companion Does NOT Do
- •It does NOT replace teachers, mentors, counsellors, or parents. It is a supplementary tool.
- •It does NOT make academic assessments, grade submissions, or determine shortlisting/winner outcomes
- •It does NOT provide medical, psychological, or legal advice
- •It does NOT share a student's conversation data with other students, school admins, challenge providers, or any third party
- •It does NOT engage in behavioural tracking, targeted advertising, or profiling for commercial purposes
- •It does NOT encourage unhealthy competition, comparison with other students, or any form of pressure
6.3 Multiple Conversation Threads
Students may create multiple conversation threads with the AI Companion to organise discussions by topic (e.g., one thread for career exploration, another for challenge preparation). Each thread maintains its own context while contributing to the shared long-term memory.
6.4 Limitations and Disclaimer
The AI Companion is powered by large language models and may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected responses. Students should treat AI Companion guidance as suggestions, not definitive answers. LaunchVerse does not guarantee the accuracy of AI Companion outputs.
If the AI Companion does not know the answer to a question, it will honestly indicate this and may suggest alternative resources or recommend speaking with a teacher, mentor, or parent.
The AI Companion is designed to be age-appropriate and will not generate content that is sexual, violent, discriminatory, or otherwise harmful. All AI Companion outputs are subject to the same content safety standards as the rest of the Platform.

8. Content Moderation and Safety
8.1 Moderation Approach
LaunchVerse employs a multi-layered content moderation approach:
- •AI Moderation: All text and visual content (profile information, submissions, descriptions) is automatically reviewed by AI moderation systems for safety and compliance. Flagged content is escalated to human review.
- •Human Moderation: LaunchVerse moderators review flagged content and make final decisions on removal, warnings, or account actions. Moderators are trained in child safety and platform guidelines.
- •Community Reporting: All users can report any content on the feed. Reports include the post ID, the reporting user's ID, and the date and time of the report. All reports flow to the CMS for review.
8.2 Flagged Profiles
