Data Deletion Policy

This policy applies to the LaunchVerse App available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It outlines how users may request deletion of their account and associated personal data.
1. Overview
At LaunchVerse, we respect your right to control your personal data. This Data Deletion Policy explains what data we collect, how you can request its deletion, how long deletion takes, and what limited data may be retained for legal or security reasons.
We comply with the account and data deletion requirements of both the Apple App Store (App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v)) and Google Play Store (User Data Policy β Account Deletion Requirement).
2. Data We Collect
When you create and use your LaunchVerse account, we may collect the following categories of personal data:
- β’Account information β your name, email address, and password
- β’Usage and activity data β in-app behavior, feature usage history, and interaction logs
- β’Device data β device identifiers (device ID), and location data (where permitted)
3. How to Request Account & Data Deletion
You can request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data through either of the following methods:
Option A β In-App (Recommended)
- 1.Open the LaunchVerse app and sign in to your account.
- 2.Navigate to Settings.
- 3.Select Account > Delete Account.
- 4.Follow the on-screen confirmation steps to submit your request.
Option B β Via Email
If you no longer have access to the app, you may submit a deletion request by emailing us at: Support@launchverse.org
Please include the following in your email:
- β’The email address associated with your LaunchVerse account
- β’A brief note confirming you wish to delete your account and all associated data
- β’Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
4. What Gets Deleted
Upon a confirmed deletion request, we will permanently delete the following data associated with your account:
- β’Account credentials (name, email address, and password hash)
- β’All usage and activity history within the app
- β’Device identifiers and location data linked to your account
- β’Any other personal data collected during your use of the LaunchVerse app
5. Processing Time
We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receipt. You will receive a confirmation email to the address on file once your data has been successfully deleted.
Please note: deactivating or temporarily disabling your account does not constitute account deletion. You must submit an explicit deletion request using the methods described in Section 3.
6. Data Retention Exceptions
In certain limited circumstances, we may be required or permitted to retain some data after your deletion request, even after your account is removed. This may include:
- β’Legal or regulatory compliance β data required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or government requests
- β’Fraud prevention and security β data needed to detect, prevent, or investigate fraudulent or illegal activity
- β’Dispute resolution β data necessary to resolve active disputes, enforce our Terms of Service, or defend legal claims
- β’Financial records β transaction or billing data required by applicable tax or accounting laws
Any data retained under these exceptions will be held only for the period required by law or the applicable legitimate purpose, after which it will be permanently deleted. Such retained data will not be used for marketing or any other purpose unrelated to the exception.
7. Third-Party Services
If your LaunchVerse account was created or linked via a third-party service (such as Sign in with Apple or Google), we will revoke our access tokens and delete associated data on our end. However, you should also review and manage your data directly with those third-party providers, as their data practices are governed by their own policies.
8. Children's Privacy
LaunchVerse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us at support@launchverse.org and we will delete the account and associated data promptly.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Data Deletion Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify users of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use of the LaunchVerse app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
